Open Letter: Justice for Breonna Taylor

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and Kentucky AG Daniel Cameron:

It's an affront to justice that 150 DAYS after Louisville police officers unlawfully broke into Breonna Taylor's apartment and fatally shot her five times, not a single officer has faced arrest or criminal charges. Only one officer has been terminated from the Louisville Metro Police Department for the reckless conduct that caused Breonna's death.

Bre was a hero, a first responder who put her life on the line every day during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Together, we demand that the City of Louisville end this blatant and outrageous injustice by firing all the officers involved and that the Kentucky Attorney General files criminal charges against them all.

All lives have value. Bre's life had special value because of the sacrifices she made for her community. It is past time for Louisville's and Kentucky's leaders to honor the value of her life by holding those responsible for her death accountable.

Together, we will get justice for Breonna Taylor — ADD YOUR NAME now.
